Layout Design
A book cover redesign for "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" by J.R.R. Tolkien. The book's new cover is meant to communicate the novel's tone through typographical design. The typography was specifically chosen and manipulated to reflect the grand tone of the novel, as well as the stark emotional highs and lows. The mountains and towers constructed out of runes indicate the story's sense of adventure while also reflecting the plotline. The cover's color is also used to express the theme of nature and environmental respect.
